Not so long ago the first landline phones were released, these phones used finger dialling and they took the world by storm, people were able to communicate with people in other countries. But as everything these phones began to develop calls got a lot clearer and we could call overseas locations for a lot less.

But suddenly the mobile phones were released and they caused a huge amount of industry buzz. Technology is just progressing at high speeds in these handsets, and mobile phones now let us connect to the internet, take image shots and shoot videos. The calls are also getting a lot cheaper and you can get signal almost any where in the world.

Do we actually really need landlines anymore? I think both yes and no is the answer for this question for quite a few reasons which we will now look at:

1) Businesses need to strictly have access to land lines, because they need to transfer, track and record calls all the time. Although mobile phones are good I do not think they can be used for business reasons.

2) From another point of view, do we really need landline access at home anymore? I mean mobile phone calls are getting a huge amount cheaper so why get a landline? The thing about landlines is that they only work in specific locations you cant be too far away from the hand unit otherwise the signal will drop, besides that they constantly need charging otherwise their batteries will cut out.

In the end only time will tell what is going to happen. Lets wait and see what occurs in the next few years.

Technology has innovated and I am so happy that it has. My personal story began around five years ago. I was due to go hiking with a friend in Scotland; we were preparing for this two week journey for months. I mean we were down the gym every single day trying to get fit to do the bike ride and then the mountain climb.

It was two weeks before we were due to go when my friend broke his leg at a work chance event. I was utterly devastated because I knew that was the end of my trip. When I actually got home that day, I mentioned to my wife what had happened and she told me to go on my own.

After thinking about it I decided to take the dunk, I mean I had been preparing for this for months. So I boarded the plane and commenced my journey. When I made a touch down at the Scottish airport, I made my way to my cabin where for the next two weeks I would be staying. My first morning was great I went on the bike ride and made my way to the bottom of the mountain peak.

To cut a long story short, what occured was that half way through the climb my right elbow got completley stuck. I was literally holding on with one hand and I had no one to help me out. Thank fully I had a voice activated phone by my side, so I managed somehow to call my partners phone number and tell her to call someone. The next thing I knew there was helicopters and rescue teams surrounding me and helped me get out of my predicament.

Phones are an absolute gem in life and you should always make sure that you are carrying one around with you.

If you have a personal computer you will know that you need to install your system with every piece or technology, antivirus and anti malware out there. This is only because of the fact that hackers create these viruses to tap into peoples computer and store worthful data such as bank details and net connection settings. Hacking and viruses cost the online community millions, if not billions of dollars every single year.

But this could all soon be changing; we could now be seeing a new flourish of viruses attacking something altogether different and that is mobile phones. Over the past decade or so the mobile phone market has literally exploded. But over the past few years we have seen an increase in smart phones, rather than phones that just call phone numbers, hitting the market. The most popular in all likelihood being the IPhoNe and the Nokia N97.

What these phones are famous for though is the internet, you can literally surf the internet like you would do on any single computer throughout the world, but these phones do not seem to have any anti virus or anti hacking software in place. Hence this makes it a downright hackers dream. You could simply end up download virus after virus on your handset.

What makes this even more worrying is that the hackers could potentially see everything available on your phone. As well as this they can also get into your phone line and run up a vast bill. As we are already well aware smart phones are mainly on contract, so there is no limit on the bill that the hackers could run up.

Mobile virus software needs to hit the mass scale market and it needs to be preinstalled on the mobile phones before they get purchased. Otherwise we could see a huge increase in mobile phone fraud.
